Julie grew up in the south-east of England. After graduating from the University of Reading with a BA Combined Honours Degree in Modern Languages, she studied to become a middle school teacher at Hull University, where she obtained her Post-Graduate Certificate in Education.
From 1983 to 1986 she taught French and general subjects in two middle schools. She then moved to Italy and has taught in language schools in Rome, Florence, Verona and Mestre. Julie joined The International School of Venice in 2003, initially as the Middle School English teacher.
In 2005 she began teaching music in the Primary School. She is passionate about language, music, the performingarts and Shakespeare!
