After visiting the Venice Biennale of Architecture 2021 entitled ‘How Will We Live Together?’ Middle School students were inspired by the many projects that proposed solutions to this question. The curator and architect Hashim Sarkis commented,” We need a new spatial contract. In the context of widening political divides and growing economic inequalities, we call on architects to imagine spaces in which we can generously live together”.
To raise awareness on the importance of creating new sustainable environments and communities, students collaborated in small groups as ‘Architects For The Future’ to plan and create three dimensional spaces and structures with the objective of opening new conversations about sustainability in architecture.
